I have know Jorge Morales for approximately three years and found him to
be capable and bright. I do feel that he needs to work harder, however.
Perhaps the realization of different requirements for performance in 
computer science than most other disciplines hasn't caught up with him yet.

In particular his background in the bread-and-butter materials of computer
science --machine organization and systems, translators, ...- is weak.
Perhaps that's a point in his favor. He is bright and should be able to 
do quite well if he applies himself.
